      • WAZALENDO SACCO SUPPORTS BUSOGA COMMUNITY WITH MEDICAL AND SCHOOL ITEMS
        27 January 2024 Wazalendo Savings and Credit Cooperative Society has donated items valued at 50 million shillings that included 20 hospital delivery beds, 600 mama kits and a pledge of 600 dozens of exercise books. The items were delivered during the official launch of Tarehe Sita activities in Busoga subregion that took place at Buyende District. Tarehe Sita is a day celebrated to commemorate the launch the National Resistance Movement (NRM)/ National Resistance Army (NRA) struggle that culminated into the liberation of Uganda from the forces of tyranny on 26th January 1986. This year’s celebration that marks the 43rd Tarehe Sita anniversary shall be held at Bugweri District on 6th February 2024.         ENGINEERS BRIGADE ARE FOOTBALL CHAMPIONS AS AIR FORCE WINS NETBALL AT THE CDF’S CUP 12th September 2023 The 15th Edition of the Chief of Defence Forces Cup tournament ended at Kakyeka Stadium, Mbarara City. The two-week event attracted 19 football teams and 12 netball teams drawn from the Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces Formations and Units. The breath-taking final match between the Air Force and Engineers Brigade ended 1 all in the 90 minutes and was decided by a penalty shootout which Engineers wom 4 : 1.         WAZALENDO SACCO SUPPORTS SPORTS Today 3rd September 23 Wazalendo Savings and Credit Cooperative Society (WSACCO) has donated sports uniforms and balls to 19 football teams and 12 netball teams that are participating in the 15th edition of the Chief of Defence Forces (CDF’s) Cup hosted by 2 Infantry Division in Mbarara City. The tournament commenced on 3rd September 2023. While flagging off the tournament, the acting 2 Infantry Division Commander Brig Gen Paul Muhanguzi who represented the Chief of Defence Forces Gen Wilson Mbadi , commended the UPDF leadership for choosing 2 Infantry Division to host this year’s tournament.         10th May 2023    Wazalendo Savings and Credit Cooperative Society (WSACCO) has donated two 5,000 litre water harvest tanks to Zuriitech Secondary School in Budaka District. The school is owned by a member of WSACCO, Lieutenant Zurich Mukatabala who serves in the UPDF’s Special Forces Command (SFC).   While handing over the tanks on behalf of the Chairman Board of Directors WSACCO Maj Gen Sam Kavuma, the Vice Chairman Lt Col Allan Kitanda said that the Board of Directors (BOD) considered donation of the water harvesting tanks among the items that the member had asked for due to the importance of water in managing the hygiene of the students.         20th March 2023   Wazalendo Savings and Credit Cooperative Society (WSACCO) has launched its 9th cash operating branch in Singo Nakaseke District.   While officiating at the commissioning of the branch, the 1DIV Commander Brig Gen Joseph Semwanga who represented the Commander Land Forces (CLF) Lt Gen Kayanja Muhanga encouraged the UPDF leadership to be exemplary by passing their salaries through WSACCO.
